Kallo Bartok Viola

Solid, hand carved European woods of the highest quality and expertly applied oil varnish antiqued to replicate aged master instruments, the Kallo Bartok viola is truly the first viola of such tremendous quality to also be affordable.

The tone of the Kallo Bartok viola is nothing short of equal to the beauty of the instrument itself. With magnificent resonance throughout the registers, a brilliant upper register and deep, rich lower register, this instrument is truly for the consummate violist looking for an instrument that is a visual and tonal masterpiece.

Carved in Romania, finished and varnished in northern Italy before coming arriving in our workshop for setup!

Available with either boxwood or ebony fittings of the highest quality. (Hill-style with heart-shaped pegs)  If your size is not available, we will have made in the Hungarian workshop, please enquire for timeline.  

Despiau two or three-tree bridge, ebony fingerboard, inlaid purfling, solid, carved throughout, aged European spruce and maple of the highest quality, antiqued oil varnish. Each instrument setup for optimal tone with any of the following strings: Obligato, Evah Pirazzi, Evah Gold, or Peter Infeld.
