Fine Italian Cello - Genoa, circa 1790
A beautiful 18th century Italian cello from Genoa, circa 1790. Attributed to Augustinus de Planis, label reads "Augustinius de Planis fecit Genuae 1796".

Fully restored, with an Italian spruce top, maple back and sides. The scroll on this instrument is particularly unique, but the whole of the cello is very striking. This instrument produces a gorgeous, big tone, with fantastic bass register richness. It plays as easily as any cello we"ve ever played.

Boxwood pegs, Wittner Ultralight composite tailpiece, New Harmony Music 10mm carbon fiber endpin, Despiau "B" quality Belgian bridge, Larsen "strong" A and D, Thomastik Bel Canto G and C.
